This West Coast style American IPA showcases a vibrant New Zealand hop profile, utilizing Motueka and Nelson Sauvin throughout the boil with a heavy dry-hop of Nelson Sauvin and Nectaron. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense bouquet of cantaloupe melon and zesty kiwi, supported by the signature white wine and crushed grape notes of the Nelson Sauvin. A clean, crackery malt base allows the aggressive, resinous pine finish to shine, delivering a firm, nostalgic bitterness. Brilliant clarity and a refreshing, dry finish define this hop-forward ale, balancing tropical fruit complexity with a classic, lingering resinous bite.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. It features a medium-sized, white, persistent head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of gooseberry, white wine grapes, and lime zest. Tropical fruit layers of passionfruit and stone fruit are supported by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character and a hint of resin.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of cantaloupe melon and kiwi. A medium-high to high bitterness provides a firm backbone, balanced by a low, neutral malt profile. The finish is dry and crisp, leaving a lingering aftertaste of resinous pine and citrus peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a refreshing crispness without harshness or astringency. Alcohol warmth is very low.
