Ageless Anniversary is a powerful tribute to the West Coast origins of the American IPA, celebrating Redwillow’s fifteen-year legacy. A deliberate abundance of classic C-hops drives the sensory experience, saturating the senses with a pungent blast of oily pine resin and vibrant grapefruit citrus. At a robust 7.2% ABV, the beer maintains a lean, clean malt profile that provides just enough structure to support its resounding bitterness. This is a nostalgic yet refined pour that captures the spirit of the golden age of craft brewing, offering a sharp, dry finish and a lingering, resinous hop trail that remains truly timeless.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant deep gold to light reddish-amber with a medium-sized, off-white head that shows excellent persistence and lacing.
Aroma. Prominent to intense hop aroma featuring classic citrus zest, grapefruit, and heavy pine resin. A low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness provides a neutral background, while the fermentation profile remains characteristically clean with no significant esters.
Taste. The initial impression is one of high hop bitterness and flavor, emphasizing grapefruit and resinous pine from the C-hops. Low, clean, and grainy malt flavors provide necessary support without adding sweetness. The balance is decidedly hop-forward, leading into a dry, crisp finish and a lingering, bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture and medium-high carbonation. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present owing to the 7.2% ABV, but it remains free of any harshness or astringency.
