Redwillow Ageless is a robust American IPA that bridges the gap between classic West Coast intensity and modern tropical aromatics. At 7.2% ABV, it delivers an assertive sensory experience driven by extensive boil and dry-hopping. The initial impact is a vibrant burst of ripe mango, exotic lychee, and fresh pineapple, characteristic of a heavy tropical hop profile. Beneath these bright notes lies a clean, supportive graininess with a hint of toasted malt. True to its old school inspiration, the experience culminates in a long, uncompromising bitterness that remains clean on the palate, offering a dry and lingering finish that invites another sip.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light amber with brilliant clarity. It is topped by a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruits, specifically mango, pineapple, and lychee. A supporting low, clean, bready maltiness provides a neutral backdrop, while a very light, smooth alcohol presence is detectable.
Taste. Initial flavors of mango and pineapple transition rapidly into a medium-high, assertive bitterness. The malt character is clean and grainy with a hint of light toast. It finishes very dry and clean with a long-lasting, resinous, and hoppy aftertaste that remains crisp without being harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp sensation. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated, with no astringency.
