This Imperial Stout presents an inviting, deep jet-black pour crowned by a resilient, fine-textured beige head. The sensory journey is defined by a sophisticated interplay of heavily roasted and torrefied malts that release intensified notes of espresso and dark chocolate as the liquid warms in the glass. Integrated additions of lactose and vanilla provide a velvety, softening counterpoint, rounding out the roast’s edge with a creamy, dessert-like sweetness. Decadent layers of cocoa emerge on the palate, harmonizing with a silky, medium-full body and a fine, effervescent carbonation. The result is a balanced and approachable take on the style that emphasizes smooth, confectionary-like flavors alongside its robust malt backbone.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Topped with a thick, fine-bubbled beige head that shows good persistence and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of roasted grain and torrefied malt, reminiscent of espresso and bittersweet chocolate. Prominent notes of sweet vanilla and rich cocoa are bolstered by a soft, creamy lactose sweetness. Low esters and negligible hop aroma.

Taste. A complex malt-forward profile featuring dark chocolate, toasted bread, and coffee-like roast. The initial sweetness from the lactose and vanilla mid-palate softens the potentially harsh roasted grains. The finish is moderately sweet but balanced by a lingering roasted bitterness and a touch of cocoa.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a silky, somewhat dense texture. Carbonation is moderate and fine, lending a slight sparkling quality. Gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being sharp.
