This Belgian Dark Strong Ale pours a deep orange with a persistent, creamy foam. The aroma is defined by an unusually intense spicy and floral profile, driven by estate-grown Hallertauer and Tettnanger hop flowers utilized through dry-hopping. Beneath the hops lies a complex foundation of bready-toasty malt and dark fruit esters reminiscent of dried cherries and plums. On the palate, a rich maltiness leads into a harmony of peppery phenols and subtle herbal notes. Benefiting from extra-long maturation, the 8.3% alcohol is exceptionally smooth and warming, finishing with a refined, complex dryness that balances the initial malt sweetness.

Appearance. Deep orange to coppery-amber (SRM 12-15); dense, lasting creamy head with fine lacing; clear with brilliant clarity.

Aroma. High intensity; rich, bready-toasty malt with notes of dark caramel; prominent spicy and floral hop character from Hallertauer and Tettnanger; moderate dark fruit esters like raisin and dried cherry; low peppery phenols and soft, perfumy alcohol.

Taste. Initial rich malt sweetness with toasted bread and caramel notes; flavors of dried plums and figs; moderate spicy hop flavor and herbal accents; medium-low bitterness provides balance against the malt; finish is moderately dry with a lingering, complex malt and spice character.
