This striking German Pils challenges the senses by pairing a deep black appearance with the crisp, bitter profile of a pale lager. Utilizing Weyermann Sinamar to achieve its dark hue without adding acridity, the beer delivers a clean, doughy malt foundation accented by subtle notes of roasted sunflower. Traditional German hops provide a moderately high herbal and spicy character that dominates the palate. Despite its visual weight, it remains medium-light in body with a sharp, dry finish and a lingering, refreshing bitterness, perfectly capturing the classic pilsner soul in an unexpected form.

Appearance. 35–40 SRM. Opaque, deep black color that remains clear of yeast haze. It features a tall, creamy, long-lasting light tan head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high herbal and spicy hop intensity. Low grainy and doughy malt character with a unique, subtle roasted sunflower seed note. Fermentation profile is clean with no esters or diacetyl.

Taste. Initial doughy pilsner malt flavor is quickly overtaken by a firm hop bitterness and herbal, spicy hop flavors. The finish is very dry and crisp with a clean lager character. Despite the color, there is no roasted malt bitterness, burnt grain, or acidity. A lingering bitterness and light minerality define the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderately high. Smooth texture with no astringency and a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
