This West Coast Double IPA delivers an intense sensory experience, leading with a punchy hop profile characterized by deep resinous dankness and citrus-forward intensity. The aroma is highly aromatic, signaling a robust and slickly made ale that balances power with high drinkability. On the palate, a soft-sweet malt backbone provides a full and fat foundation, yet the beer finishes remarkably dry with a refreshing, assertive bitterness. The 8% ABV adds a subtle, well-integrated warmth that complements the bold hop character, creating a flavor-packed experience that remains clean and vibrant from the first sip to the lingering, hoppy aftertaste.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM). Displays excellent clarity with a persistent, creamy off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by New World hop characteristics. Prominent notes of pine resin, damp forest floor, and grapefruit zest. Background notes of grainy-sweet malt provide support. Fermentation profile is clean with very low fruity esters and a subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Bold hop-forward impact mirroring the aroma with resin, pine, and citrus peel flavors. Bitterness is high and assertive but lacks harshness. Malt flavor is low to moderate, presenting a clean, slightly toasty support. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a clean, lingering bitterness and hop oil resonance without being heavy.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slick texture. Carbonation is medium-high. Features a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth appropriate for its strength, without any hop-derived astringency.
