This Double IPA erupts with a vivid New Zealand-forward profile, where Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka deliver intense impressions of passionfruit, guava, and mango. The Superdelic hops add layers of sweet fruit and berry depth, while Columbus provides a resinous, cutting dankness that anchors the aromatic profile. Vibrant aromas of Sauvignon Blanc grapes and a touch of intriguing earthiness lead into a palate of concentrated tropical flavors and crushed grape skins. Despite the 8.5% ABV, it remains remarkably approachable with a sweeping, balanced bitterness and a clean fermentation profile. Appearance. Pours a brilliant deep gold to light orange-copper (7–9 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by tropical passionfruit, guava, and mango, alongside a distinct Sauvignon Blanc grape character. A resinous, dank undertone and light earthiness support the fruit, while a neutral, grainy malt presence remains in the background.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors dominated by tropical fruit and citrus. Initial impressions of mango and stone fruit transition into a firm, sweeping hop bitterness. The malt character is low and unobtrusive, providing a soft, clean foundation. It finishes dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste, free of harshness.
