Ratpenat Primer Aniversari
This Belgian Tripel pours a luminous golden hue, celebrating its anniversary with a complex and highly aromatic profile. A foundation of soft Pilsner malt provides a subtle grainy-sweet backbone, supporting an intricate dance of peppery phenols and citrusy esters. The unique addition of grapes rounds out the palate, lending singular vinous notes that harmonize with a delicate floral hop character. Despite its robust strength, the beer remains remarkably drinkable and effervescent. It concludes with a firm bitterness and a characteristically bone-dry finish, where the fruit character adds a modern, sophisticated twist to the traditional monastic profile.
Appearance. Deep golden to yellow-gold (6 SRM); brilliant clarity with active effervescence. Features a long-lasting, creamy, rocky white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity bouquet; complex spice notes of white pepper and clove mixed with citrusy esters of orange peel. The addition of grapes contributes a unique, vinous fruitiness over a soft, honey-like Pilsner malt base with low floral hop notes.
Taste. Initial soft malt sweetness transitions into spicy phenols and citrus fruit flavors. The grape addition provides a rounded, elegant fruit character that differentiates it from traditional examples. Medium-high bitterness is accentuated by a very dry finish and a lingering spicy-fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a surprisingly light, effervescent texture. High carbonation creates a tingly sensation on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is deceptive and well-integrated, providing a soft glow without being hot.
