Turbo Max Plus is a striking Specialty IPA that balances bold hop intensity with a restrained roasted backbone. The sensory experience is led by assertive Simcoe hops, delivering a complex bouquet of resinous pine and vibrant stone fruit. This hop-forward brightness is soon grounded by the depth of debittered roasted malts, which provide subtle notes of dark chocolate and coffee without being overly ashy. As a dark American-style ale, it maintains a clean fermentation profile, allowing the interplay between forest-like bitterness and a dry, toasted finish to shine through, making it a robust yet drinkable companion for cool autumn evenings.
Appearance. Deep black and opaque (approx. 35 SRM) with a dense, persistent light tan head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine and ripe stone fruit. A supportive malt background provides moderate notes of dark chocolate, toasted bread, and a hint of coffee. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial hop-driven impact of pine needles and tropical fruit, followed by a smooth, medium malt presence of cocoa and roasted grain. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. The finish is dry with a lingering resinous hop character and a clean, light roasted aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, complemented by a low level of creaminess and no perceived astringency from the dark grains.
