Tunnel Vision is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a sophisticated interplay between Southern Hemisphere hops and American classics. A deliberate early addition of Motueka encourages unique yeast interaction, yielding a complex foundation for the heavy dry-hopping of Citra and Nelson Sauvin. The profile is defined by a striking contrast; the nose is headlined by the distinctive dankness and subtle diesel notes of Nelson Sauvin, while the palate erupts with bright, limey Motueka and the zesty, orange sherbet character of Citra. Despite its punchy hop load, the finish remains remarkably juicy yet refreshing, offering a clean, dry departure that enhances its overall drinkability.
Appearance. Deep straw to light orange in color with a significant, opaque haze that gives the beer a luminous quality. It is crowned by a white, rocky, meringue-like head with very high retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma led by the pungent, dank qualities of Nelson Sauvin, including distinct notes of diesel and crushed white grapes. This is complemented by bright citrus and tropical fruit from the Citra, set against a low, neutral, bready malt background and light fruity esters.
Taste. A bright and vibrant citrus-forward initial impression, featuring prominent lime from the Motueka and lashings of fresh orange and orange sherbet from the Citra. The Nelson Sauvin adds a layer of dank complexity. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and well-integrated. The finish is juicy yet surprisingly dry and clean, with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, smooth, and plush texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a gentle sparkle without any carbonic bite or harshness. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated, supporting the punchy hop profile.
