Trail Blazer is a striking American IPA that captures the essence of the West Coast style with a modern, high-intensity hop profile. It presents a crystal clear golden hue, releasing a pungent aromatic profile of resinous pine and burnt orange driven by the use of Chinook and Amarillo. The inclusion of Manilita and Cryo Pop® enhances the bouquet with layers of grapefruit and subtle blackcurrant. On the palate, a massive wave of bitterness is balanced by a lean, grainy malt structure. The finish is decidedly dry and lingering, showcasing a complex sensory interplay of citrus zest and forest floor.
Appearance. Crystal clear, brilliant medium gold (7 SRM) with a persistent, medium-sized white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine, grapefruit, and burnt orange zest. Secondary notes of blackcurrant and tropical fruit are supported by a low, clean, grainy malt character. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is aggressively hoppy. High hop flavors of grapefruit, pine, and orange juice are followed by a distinct blackcurrant note. Bitterness is high and sharp but clean. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a light grainy support. The finish is very dry and lingering with a crisp, bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harshness or astringency.
