Space Cadet is a vibrant California IPA that captures the bright, hop-forward spirit of a West Coast classic with modern Australian flair. A Double Dry Hop addition of Motueka, Centennial, Wakatu, and CryoPop™ creates an intense aromatic profile defined by a punchy citrus and stonefruit medley. The palate is characterized by an initial wave of zesty orange and mandarin, supported by a lean, grainy malt base that allows the hops to take center stage. A mild but persistent bitterness balances the fruit-forward character, leading into a clean, dry finish. This collaboration delivers a crushable yet complex experience with a distinctive citrus-peel coating on the mouthfeel.
Appearance. Medium gold (6-7 SRM) with a slight, hop-derived haze. Displays a medium-sized, bright white head with good persistence and delicate lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of fresh lime and lemon zest from Motueka and Wakatu, complemented by lush peach and tropical stonefruit from CryoPop™. Centennial adds a subtle floral and resinous pine backbone. Malt is low, clean, and bready.
Taste. High hop flavor mirrors the citrus and stonefruit aroma, specifically emphasizing mandarin and grapefruit. Low, grainy-sweet malt provides a brief support before a medium-high hop bitterness takes over. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, clean citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly oily mouth-coating texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the crisp finish. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated.
