Rituals II is a decadent, barrel-aged Imperial Stout that harmonizes intense dark chocolate with nuanced fruit and spice. This release blends components aged in Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill bourbon barrels, imparting rich caramel and deep raisin notes. Infusions of toasted coconut and Tahitian vanilla beans create a velvety pastry-like sweetness, while the addition of Swedish blueberries offers a subtle, bright fruit lift. The result is a complex sensory experience reminiscent of gourmet fruit and nut chocolate, supported by a sturdy roast profile and a smooth, warming alcohol presence that defines this sophisticated, high-gravity brew.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40); produces a persistent, deep tan to mocha-colored head with moderate retention and visible viscosity (legs) upon swirling.
Aroma. High intensity; rich bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee grounds are layered with bourbon-derived vanilla, oak, and caramel. Distinctive toasted coconut and floral Tahitian vanilla provide a dessert-like sweetness, complemented by dark fruit esters of plum and Swedish blueberry.
Taste. Initial decadent dark chocolate and toffee flavors give way to a complex blend of raisin and charred oak from the Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill barrels. Mid-palate sweetness from coconut and vanilla transitions into a gentle, tart Swedish blueberry note. Finishes with a lingering roast bitterness and a rich, chocolate-coated nut character.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous with a luscious, chewy texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, providing a velvety mouth-coating sensation. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeably present, consistent with its high strength.

Range Brewing - Rituals III - Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout Price: $18 Rituals is the fifth release of our Barrel-aged Stout program and this year we've taken inspiration from our flagship Pastry Stout, Morning Ritual. Rituals III blends Rum & Bourbon Barrel-aged Stout from Walrus Distilling Rum and Wild Turkey Whiskey Barrels, our Morning Ritual additions of Coconut and Vanilla, and then we've added an extra addition of Coffee from Coffee Supreme. We've soaked whole beans of Supreme's South blend to bring through notes of caramel and praline, which pair perfectly with the the coconut and vanilla additions. The barrel notes coming through bring notes of rich raisin and vanilla oak, which, when paired with the coffee and coconut provides a decadent blend of luxurious flavours that are eternally palate coating. This iteration provides an elevated level of roast, perfectly atune to what you would expect from such a beer being blended with freshly roasted coffee.
