This sessionable American Pale Ale delivers a vibrant sensory experience despite its modest alcohol content. Range Brewing utilizes a recycled hop blend of Citra Cryo, Citra, Motueka, and CIP-076 to create a profile defined by lush tropicality. Vivid aromas of mango and passionfruit dominate the forefront, seamlessly transitioning into zesty lime and soft peach accents driven by the Motueka. The palate is exceptionally clean, with a light, grainy malt backbone that allows the juicy hop character to shine without being overshadowed by heavy bitterness. It is a bright, refreshing, and remarkably crushable example of modern hop-forward brewing tailored for warm weather.
Appearance. Very pale gold (3-4 SRM) with a slight haze consistent with modern juicy interpretations. Displays a moderate, frothy white head with fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit (mango, passionfruit) and citrus (lime zest). Low neutral, bready maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation is very clean with minimal esters, allowing the Citra Cryo and Motueka to provide a fresh, floral, and fruity bouquet.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical juice, followed by distinct flavors of lime, peach, and citrus peel. Low to moderate bitterness provides a clean counterpoint to the soft malt base. The finish is dry and crisp, with lingering notes of passionfruit and a touch of resinous hop character. Balanced heavily toward late-addition hop flavor while maintaining high drinkability.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a soft, smooth texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a refreshing prickle. No alcohol warmth is perceived. Extremely clean and crisp with no astringency.
