This Double IPA is a saturated tropical powerhouse, utilizing a multi-format hop approach with three types of Citra—Cryo, LUPOMAX, and T-90—supported by Nectaron and Cashmere. The result is a sensory 'fruit salad' delivering intense aromas of sticky mango, pineapple, strawberry, and melon. On the palate, the experience deepens with concentrated passionfruit and a distinct hint of banana toward the finish. The malt profile is deliberately soft and unobtrusive, allowing the vibrant, oily hop resins to take center stage. It is a dense, high-impact ale that balances its significant strength with a smooth, luscious texture and a lingering tropical depth.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (5-7 SRM). Features a dense, thick, and completely opaque haze. Topped with a persistent, creamy white head that leaves heavy lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of mango nectar, fresh pineapple, and ripe cantaloupe. Subtler berry-like strawberry notes emerge as it warms. Malt is neutral and grainy-sweet in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Explosive tropical fruit flavors of mango, passionfruit, and pineapple. A soft, doughy malt sweetness supports the hop saturation. Bitterness is moderate and smooth, never reaching harshness. A faint, sweet banana ester complements the late-palate fruit profile. The finish is long, fruity, and slightly off-dry.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but not hot. No hop-derived astringency; very soft mouth-coating sensation.
