NEIPA - New England IPA 7.1 º
This Hazy IPA delivers an intense tropical experience, defined by its vibrant "breakfast juice" profile. A simple, pale malt bill provides a neutral canvas for a massive double dry-hop addition. Citra and Mosaic lead the charge, bursting with saturated notes of mango and passionfruit, while background layers of Strata and Centennial add complexity with accents of peach and melon. The experience is exceptionally smooth, characterized by a soft, pillowy texture and a complete absence of perceived bitterness. It balances high-intensity fruitiness with a clean finish, ensuring high drinkability and a saturated hop character despite its 7.1% strength.
Appearance. Straw to light amber (3–7 SRM) with a distinct, opaque haze that exhibits a healthy shine. Features a persistent, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring heavy tropical fruit notes of mango and passionfruit. Substantial stone fruit esters of peach and melon are present. Malt is low and neutral, providing a light bready, grainy background without any toast or caramel character.
Taste. Initial impression is a fruit-saturated juice-like quality. High fruity hop flavors of mango, passionfruit, and citrus. Malt flavor is low and lightly bready, serving to support the hop intensity. Perceived bitterness is low, well below the standard 25–60 IBU range for the style. The finish is off-dry, smooth, and lingering with tropical fruit oils and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy, and very smooth body. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth from the 7.1% ABV. Absence of astringency or raw starch texture.
