How Many Megapixels is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies the synergy between American and New Zealand hop varieties. An aggressive dry-hopping regimen featuring Citra Cryo, Motueka, and Pacifica produces an explosive sensory profile. The nose is greeted by a sharp lime and fresh pineapple punch, which transitions into a lush, saturated palate of sticky mango, overripe stone fruit, and juicy papaya. Despite its opaque, ultra-hazy appearance, the beer maintains a surprisingly dry and clean finish. The soft, bready malt backbone provides a pillowy texture that carries the intense tropical hop flavors without the distraction of assertive bitterness.
Appearance. Straw to pale yellow (3-4 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that gives the beer a luminous shine. Pours with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates high retention and leaves beautiful lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring dominant notes of crushed lime, fresh pineapple, and sweet mango. Very low, neutral bready malt character serves as a quiet backdrop. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters that merge seamlessly with the tropical hop profile.
Taste. An immediate burst of tropical fruit including juicy papaya and overripe peach, followed by a bright citrus citrus zest from the Citra Cryo. Malt flavor is low and bready, providing just enough structure to support the hops. Perceived bitterness is low, allowing for a soft, juice-like impression. The finish is notably dry and crisp for the style, leaving a lingering aftertaste of lime and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the drinkability. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated at 6.4% ABV. Completely free of hop astringency or harshness.
