This assertive Double IPA showcases a lean, modern West Coast profile built on a crisp Pilsner malt base. The sensory experience is dominated by an aggressive hop assault where Centennial and Galaxy drive intense notes of sticky orange marmalade and tropical dankness. Nelson Sauvin and NZ Cascade Amplifire contribute layers of oily resin and overripe stone fruit. Despite its 8.5% strength, the beer remains light straw in color and remarkably clean, allowing the hop saturation to shine. A firm, lasting bitterness anchors the finish, perfectly balancing the punchy mouthfeel and lingering fruit complexity.
Appearance. Light straw to pale gold (6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves tight lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent citrus, sticky orange marmalade, and pungent resin. Background notes of tropical fruit and dankness. Malt is very low, appearing as a clean, neutral graininess. Fermentation is clean with a very light touch of alcohol warmth.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with oily resin, grapefruit, and overripe stone fruit. Bitterness is firm and moderately high, remaining clean and without harshness. Malt support is minimal, providing a crisp, lean platform. The finish is dry and lingering with a saturating hoppy aftertaste.
