This Double Dry-Hopped American IPA showcases a vibrant, punchy hop profile driven by the iconic trio of Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic, further accented by a touch of Nelson Sauvin. The sensory journey begins with an intense bouquet of overripe mango and bright orange peel. On the palate, a bold, early bitterness typical of the West Coast style is complemented by deep marmalade notes and a lingering, sticky resinous finish. Despite its hop-forward aggression, the beer maintains a clean, lean malt backbone that provides enough fullness to support the hop-heavy character, resulting in a balanced yet intensely aromatic experience.
Appearance. Pours a clear, deep gold to light amber with a medium-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of overripe mango, citrus zest, and pungent pine resin. A clean, low grainy maltiness provides a subtle foundation, while fermentation remains clean with only a hint of tropical esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a firm, sharp bitterness that leads into intense hop flavors of orange marmalade, tropical fruit, and citrus peel. The malt character is clean and supportive with a light crackery quality. The finish is dry and lingering, dominated by a sticky, resinous hop aftertaste and clean bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, lending a crispness to the palate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, providing a smooth finish without any harsh astringency.
