This Double IPA, a prestigious collaboration between Range Brewing and Cloudwater Brew Co, showcases an intense sensory profile amplified by the innovative use of liquid hop extracts. The experience begins with a saturated New Zealand-led bouquet, bursting with aromatic notes of white grape, zesty lime, and tart gooseberry. On the palate, the hop intensity deepens, layering ripe peach and bright citrus over a dense, resinous foundation. Despite its strength, the beer remains exceptionally smooth, balancing its high alcohol content with a lush, velvety body. The finish is remarkably persistent, leaving a trail of tropical fruit and sticky hop resins that define this modern, hop-forward masterpiece.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (8-10 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze characteristic of modern interpretations. Topped by a dense, creamy, off-white head with excellent retention and thick, persistent lacing.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma featuring a complex New Zealand character of white grape, gooseberry, and crushed lime. Supporting notes of ripe peach and tropical fruit are prominent. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy backdrop that allows the hop-derived resins and fruity esters to dominate.
Taste. An explosion of hop flavors mimics the aroma, leading with vibrant lime, grape, and stone fruit. Malt provides a soft, unobtrusive support with light bready notes. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but smooth, lacking any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous hop character and a clean, integrated alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, dense body with a smooth, almost creamy texture from the hop extracts. Carbonation is moderate. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but well-restrained, with no hop-derived astringency.

We are grateful to have worked hand-in-hand this time around with our friends at Range Brewing in Brisbane Australia, who have worked in bold and adventurous ways to elevate the Australian brewing scene. We’ve boldly pushed the boundaries of contemporary liquid hop offerings in this brew. While liquid hops have traditionally played a supporting role in our most innovative beers, evolving their impact as technology and real-world feedback shape their usage, this time we wanted them to take centre stage in the brewing process.
Our aim was to maximise the potential of these full-flavour liquid hop extracts, producing an abundance of aroma and a profound hop resin character. The hop line-up starts with Citra Incognito from Barth Haas, followed by Nelson and Motueka SubZero HopKief from Freestyle for biotransformation. It then progresses to Galaxy and Citra Spectrum before finishing off with Nelson and Motueka Amplifire green hops oil from Clayton Hops, resulting in a layered complexity that rivals the finest dry-hop offerings available.
The outcome is a huge New Zealand-led bouquet of grape, lime, and gooseberry, complemented by lingering citrus and peach flavours on a dense resinous body that will have you savouring the intense, all-encompassing hop experience.
