Quantock Brewery Titanium
Titanium is a quintessential West Coast expression of an American IPA, defined by its brilliant clarity and vibrant hop profile. The intentional use of Citra and Ekuanot hops drives an assertive sensory experience, leading with pungent aromas of zesty grapefruit, lime peel, and a distinct resinous pine. A lean, pale malt base provides a crisp, clean canvas, allowing the hop oils to dominate without the distraction of heavy caramel. On the palate, a firm bitterness provides a sharp, refreshing edge, finishing dry and clean with lingering notes of citrus pith and evergreen needles. It is a focused and exceptionally drinkable interpretation of the style.
Appearance. Medium gold with brilliant clarity; features a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by citrus zest, grapefruit, and resinous pine. A low, clean, grainy malt sweetness supports the hop character. Fermentation profile is neutral with very low esters.
Taste. Bold hop flavors of grapefruit, lime, and pine needles dominate from the first sip. A low, clean maltiness offers minimal support, keeping the balance decidedly hop-forward. Bitterness is firm and assertive but clean, leading to a dry, crisp finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture and moderate to high carbonation. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present without any harshness or astringency.
