Distant Shores is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures a lush, tropical landscape. Hand-selected Southern Cross hops combine with Citra and Nelson Sauvin to deliver a complex aromatic bouquet of ripe mango, papaya, and concentrated dried pineapple. On the palate, this collaboration beer transitions into bright layers of tangerine and sweet candied lemon, balanced by a distinctively dank resinous undertone. The experience is defined by its soft, pillowy texture and a restrained bitterness that allows the saturated hop oils to shine. It finishes with a refreshing citrus brightness, making this a quintessential expression of the modern, fruit-forward hazy style.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that provides a luminous shine. Topped by a dense, rocky white head with exceptional retention and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with dominant tropical fruit notes of ripe mango, papaya, and dried pineapple. A supportive, low bready malt backbone provides a clean foundation. Subtle fruity esters from fermentation complement the hop profile without being grassy or herbal.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors lead with juicy tangerine and sweet candied lemon, followed by a complex, resinous dank character. Malt flavor is low and neutral, supporting high hop saturation. Bitterness is restrained and smooth, leading to a soft, off-dry finish with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. Very low alcohol warmth is well-integrated, providing a clean drinking experience without any harshness or raw starchiness.
