Pulfer Brewery

Oyabun reimagines the traditional Weissbier as a decadent, high-gravity indulgence. This liquid dessert leads with a potent sensory strike of ripe banana and creamy vanilla, immediately signaling its rich, confectionery intent. The traditional weizen yeast esters are amplified by the addition of real bananas, while a smooth undercurrent of chocolate provides a sophisticated, slightly cocoa-dusted depth. Despite its 7.1% ABV, the beer maintains the characteristic fluffy wheat texture and high carbonation that define the style. The result is a bold, aromatic experience where bready malt meets luxurious sweetness, finishing with a surprising lightness that masks its strength, making this Japanese-macaque-inspired boss exceptionally approachable.

Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (6-8 SRM); opaque haze with visible particulate from yeast and adjunct conditioning; very thick, moussy, long-lasting white head with dense lacing.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of overripe banana and sweet vanilla bean; secondary notes of milk chocolate and cocoa; supportive bready, doughy wheat malt; light spicy clove phenols and a subtle floral hop hint.

Taste. Initial impression is sweet and dessert-like; rich flavors of banana bread and creamy vanilla dominate the palate; mid-palate reveals soft, grainy wheat and a gentle chocolate layer; very low bitterness; finish is relatively well-rounded and flavorful with a lingering sweetness of vanilla and fruit.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a fluffy, creamy fullness; high carbonation providing an effervescent, spritzy lift; noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth; no astringency.
