Night Howler is a striking Double IPA that captures the aggressive yet refined essence of the modern West Coast style. The sensory profile is headlined by a bold hop selection: Citra drives a punchy citrus core of grapefruit and lime zest, while Chinook provides a nostalgic layer of resinous pine and subtle spice. Strata completes the bouquet with its signature dank, herbal complexity and tropical berry undertones. Despite its potent 8% ABV, the beer maintains high drinkability through a lean, neutral malt backbone and a crisp, dry finish. The experience is defined by a firm bitterness and a clean fermentation profile that allows the vibrant hop oils to resonate.

Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light copper (approx. 7–9 SRM) with excellent clarity. It supports a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, orange peel, and resinous pine, backed by a distinctively dank and tropical berry character. The malt is low and neutral, offering a faint grainy sweetness, while fermentation is clean with no significant esters.

Taste. An initial explosion of hop flavor mirrors the aroma, highlighting citrus zest and forest pine. The bitterness is high but smooth, avoiding harshness. A low, clean malt presence provides just enough structure to support the hops without adding sweetness. The finish is very dry with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste and a touch of citrus pith.

Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop oils. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 8% ABV, without any harsh astringency.
