Ground And Pound is a vibrantly expressive Hazy IPA that showcases a complex hop blend of El Dorado, Idaho 7, Mosaic, and Azacca. The sensory journey begins with an explosion of tropical fruits and ripe stone fruits, complemented by bright orange peel and a subtle, contrasting spicy, piney resin. A foundation of light, bready malt provides a soft base for the massive hop saturation. This beer features the hallmark silky mouthfeel of the style, delivering a juicy profile that remains highly drinkable despite its robust 6.9% ABV. The finish is smooth and clean, emphasizing lush fruit esters over sharp bitterness.
Appearance. Pale gold to light amber (4–6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that creates a luminous glow. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma dominated by pineapple, mango, and stone fruit from El Dorado and Mosaic, layered with zesty orange peel and a hint of Idaho 7’s spicy pine. Background notes of neutral, grainy-sweet malt and clean fermentation esters.
Taste. Assertive tropical fruit and nectarine flavors lead the palate, followed by citrus zest and a resinous pine undertone from the Azacca and Idaho 7 hops. Low to moderate bitterness is well-integrated and masked by a soft, bready malt sweetness. The finish is off-dry and lingering with fruit-forward hop character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, silky texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a soft, rounded mouthfeel without harshness. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 6.9% ABV.
