Don Bonanno is a decadent Imperial Weissbier that elevates the classic German wheat beer profile into a rich dessert experience. Heady aromas of ripe banana puree meld with the distinct marzipan and almond notes of tonka beans, supported by a subtle undercurrent of dark chocolate from cacao nibs. This release displays a significantly fuller body than traditional examples, delivering a lush, velvety palate where the expected wheat breadiness is amplified by residual sweetness. While clove phenolics provide a faint structural nod to the style, the focus remains on the indulgent interplay of tropical fruit and confectionery spices, finishing with a gentle, integrated warmth.

Appearance. Deep gold to light amber with a very thick, persistent, moussy off-white head; significantly hazy and opaque due to the high protein content from wheat, yeast, and the addition of fruit puree.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of overripe banana and sweet marzipan from tonka beans. Secondary notes of milky chocolate and cocoa powder appear alongside traditional spicy clove phenolics. The malt profile is bready and doughy, with a noticeable pastry-like sweetness.

Taste. The initial impression is richly sweet and fruit-forward, featuring prominent banana and almond-like tonka flavors. Soft, bready wheat malt supports a mid-palate of cacao and light vanilla. Bitterness is very low, allowing the dessert-like character to lead into a sweet, lingering finish of fruit and chocolate.

Mouthfeel. Full and viscous body with a creamy, thick texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing some lift to the heavy weight. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its 7% strength.
