Captain Badfish is a vibrant, West Coast-inspired interpretation of a German Pils, delivering a sharp, refreshing experience born from a collaboration with Last Row. This lager presents a brilliant golden hue and an assertive hop profile that pushes the boundaries of the style. Expect an aromatic bouquet of herbal and spicy notes—tinged with a resinous West Coast edge—resting atop a clean base of grainy, cracker-like Continental Pilsner malt. The palate is defined by a bracing bitterness that cleanses the tongue, leading into a bone-dry, minerally finish. At 5.7% ABV, it offers a slightly more robust presence than traditional examples while remaining remarkably crisp and sessionable.

Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM); brilliant clarity with no haze; tall, creamy white head with excellent retention and persistent lacing.

Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring flowery, spicy, and herbal notes with a subtle resinous undertone; low grainy-sweet malt character suggesting toasted crackers and a hint of honey; clean fermentation profile without esters or diacetyl.

Taste. Initial doughy malt flavor is quickly overcome by a dominant hop bitterness and spicy flavor; medium-high bitterness that lingers pleasantly into the aftertaste; very dry, crisp finish with a faint flinty or minerally sharpness; clean lager character throughout.
