Pulfer Brewery

This Imperial American Porter presents a decadent sensory profile, pushing the traditional boundaries of the style with its massive 11.2% ABV. Intense aromas of bittersweet chocolate and aromatic vanilla dominate the nose, layered over a rich foundation of roasted Chocolate malt and subtle caramel. On the palate, it delivers a luxurious, velvet-like smoothness with deep notes of cocoa and creamy vanilla bean, balanced by a firm bitterness that prevents the pastry-influenced sweetness from becoming cloying. Despite its strength, the finish remains remarkably drinkable, offering a lingering alcohol warmth and a complex interplay of dark malt richness and spiced aromatics.

Appearance. Very dark brown to near black (SRM 40); thick, creamy tan head with excellent retention and dense lacing; opaque clarity.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant dark chocolate and rich vanilla bean notes over a medium-strong roasted malt base of coffee and toasted bread; light resiny hop character and moderate dark fruit esters.

Taste. Strong initial impression of sweet cocoa and vanilla; moderately strong roasted malt flavor with chocolate and caramel richness; medium-high bitterness provides balance; finish is lingering and medium-sweet with a smooth, non-acrid dark malt character.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous; moderate carbonation; noticeable alcohol warmth that remains well-integrated; high creaminess with very low malt astringency.
