This formidable Double IPA showcases an intense, tropical-forward profile driven by a heavy double dry-hop of Citra, Strata, and Nectaron. It pours a deep, hazy gold, releasing saturated aromas of ripe passionfruit, crushed pineapple, and bright citrus zest. On the palate, the hop intensity is profound, delivering layers of stone fruit and resinous pine over a lean, supportive grain bill that keeps the focus on the lupulin impact. A firm but well-integrated bitterness balances the 9% strength, leading to a dry, lingering finish of grapefruit peel and tropical nectar. It is a powerful yet smooth expression of modern hopping.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (8 SRM); opaque with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy tropical notes of pineapple and mango from Nectaron, combined with the signature citrus of Citra and the dank, berry-like edge of Strata. Malt is very low and neutral. Light fruity esters are present.
Taste. Immediate punch of tropical fruit, peach, and citrus. The bitterness is firm and moderately high but lacks harshness. Malt provides a soft, bready backdrop without residual sweetness. The finish is clean and dry with a long, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A smooth, warming alcohol presence is noticeable but well-integrated. No hop-derived astringency.
