Prizm Brewing Co. IUPAC
This terpene-charged Hazy IPA, a collaboration with Spain’s Gross, pushes past the usual juice-bomb profile into the deepest reaches of the dank side. Intense aromas of resinous cannabis and sticky pine needles dominate the senses, fueled by a heavy dose of hop-derived terpenes. Beneath this pungent, weedy exterior lies a foundation of ripe tropical mango and bright citrus zest. The appearance is characteristically opaque with a soft, glowing straw hue. On the palate, a lush, medium-full body carries wave after wave of herbal resin and stone fruit, finishing with a gentle, pillowy bitterness and an off-dry, bready malt lingering.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold with a dense, opaque haze that creates a luminous glow. Topped by a thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of pungent resin, fresh-cut cannabis, and dank herbal notes. Secondary notes of overripe mango, grapefruit zest, and papaya emerge as it warms. Malt is minimal, offering just a hint of neutral, bready sweetness.
Taste. Explodes with resinous hop oils and dank, weedy flavors. Mid-palate transitions into softer notes of tropical fruit and citrus juice. Malt character is light and grainy, supporting the hop intensity without adding sweetness. Bitterness is low to medium-low, integrated smoothly into a soft, slightly lingering finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate and fine-beaded. Entirely smooth with no hop burn or astringency, and just a very faint touch of alcohol warmth.
