This Imperial Stout presents an opulent, midnight-black pour defined by its deep complexity and velvety texture. The aroma is led by the luxurious richness of Chuao cacao and toasted Hazelnuts, creating a decadent, nut-forward profile. Subtle, spicy nuances of Tonka provide an exotic undercurrent of vanilla and almond, which melds seamlessly with the 11% alcohol warmth. On the palate, intense roasted malts deliver layers of espresso and bittersweet chocolate, balanced by a creamy, luscious mouthfeel. The finish is long and warming, leaving a lingering impression of spiced dark chocolate and roasted nut depth.

Appearance. Opaque, jet-black appearance (40+ SRM) with a dense, dark tan head showing moderate retention. Pronounced legs are visible on the glass, indicating high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and significant toasted Hazelnuts. The Tonka beans offer an exotic spicy character akin to vanilla, clove, and almond. Low esters of prune and dried cherry are present, well-integrated with a noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and sweet, dominated by the Chuao cacao and nutty hazelnut depth. The mid-palate reveals roasted grain bitterness and coffee notes, balanced by the spicy, vanilla-like qualities of Tonka. Bitterness is moderate, preventing the beer from becoming cloying. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and toasted nut aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and velvety. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout, contributing to a luscious, mouth-coating texture without any harsh astringency.
