Pressure Drop Brewing

Upgrade by Pressure Drop is a vibrant, low-ABV American IPA that punches well above its weight. Utilizing a combination of Idaho-7, HCB586, and Simcoe cryo hops, it delivers a punchy aromatic profile dominated by ripe pineapple, sweet melon, and a resinous pine backbone. The use of a biotransforming yeast enhances the tropical ester profile, while a grist containing oats and wheat provides a soft, approachable structure. Despite its sessionable strength, it maintains the hallmark hop-forward balance of the style, offering a crisp and refreshing experience with a clean, lingering bitterness and a dry finish.

Appearance. Pours a pale straw to light gold. Exhibits a slight to moderate haze from the addition of oats and wheat. Topped with a medium-sized, bright white head with good persistence and delicate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of tropical pineapple and juicy melon, complemented by a distinct resinous pine character. Low grainy and slightly bready maltiness provides a subtle background. A clean fermentation profile is evident with light fruity esters from yeast biotransformation.

Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of pineapple and melon. Firm hop bitterness is well-integrated, leading to a dry, crisp finish. Low grainy malt character supports the hops without adding sweetness. The aftertaste is hoppy, bitter, and clean.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture enhanced by the addition of wheat and oats. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a refreshing snap. Alcohol warmth is absent, ensuring high drinkability without any harshness or astringency.
