Internet Friends is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that expertly balances tropical intensity with a refined fermentation profile. The sensory experience is lead by a bright, acidic burst of pineapple that provides a sharp, refreshing counterpoint to the creamy, nutty richness of coconut. A smooth layer of vanilla weaves through the profile, adding a soft, sweet-scented depth that rounds out the sharp lactic sourness. This American Wild Ale maintains a complex, funky backbone while showcasing the specialty ingredients in a dessert-like harmony. The result is a multi-layered, tropical sour that remains crisp and highly drinkable, finishing with a lingering, fruit-forward acidity.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (SRM 3-6) with a noticeable haze from fruit and coconut additions. It pours with a white, frothy head that shows moderate retention and light, fleeting lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh, tart pineapple and toasted coconut. A sweet, marshmallow-like vanilla fragrance is prominent, supported by a clean lactic acidity and very light earthy, funky notes from the wild fermentation. Malt and hop character are negligible.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, tangy pineapple acidity that transitions into a creamy mid-palate of coconut and smooth vanilla. Hop bitterness is very low, allowing the acidic balance to lead. Fermentation character is clean and tart with subtle funk. The finish is dry and refreshing with a lingering tropical and vanilla aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a slightly creamy, rounded texture attributed to the vanilla and coconut. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a crisp, effervescent sensation. No alcohol warmth is perceived at this gravity.
