Pressure Drop Brewing

Decadent Beast is a powerful American Stout that lives up to its name with a lush, confectionery-like profile. Deeply roasted malts drive an intense dark chocolate and fudge-like core, providing a rich, chewy foundation. The bold 8.4% alcohol adds a smooth, integrated warmth that carries the sweetness, while a firm American hop bitterness ensures a clean, structured finish. Despite its indulgent, fudge-forward personality, the beer maintains the classic roasted coffee and charred grain character expected of the style, resulting in a robust, multi-layered experience that balances dessert-like decadence with a sturdy, resinous hop backbone and a lingering cocoa-tinged aftertaste.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque; features a large, persistent head of light brown foam with excellent retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. High intensity roast with prominent notes of bittersweet chocolate and espresso. A distinct fudge-like sweetness is present, backed by low resinous and piney hop aromas. Very light dark fruit esters and a clean, smooth alcohol note.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and chocolatey, followed by moderate to high roasted flavors of coffee beans and burnt malt. Medium malt sweetness suggests chocolate fudge, balanced by a medium-high hop bitterness. Hop flavor is moderate with citrusy and piney characteristics. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering roasted grain and cocoa quality.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied with a creamy, viscous texture. Carbonation is moderate to medium-high. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, with very low roast-derived astringency.
