This 2017 vintage Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory profile defined by its extensive maturation in Jamaican Rum barrels. The nose opens with an intense bouquet of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, and spiced molasses, layered with the vinous character of port and dark raisins. On the palate, the beer is exceptionally rich, delivering deep notes of charred grain and cocoa that meld seamlessly with rum-soaked fruit and toasted oak. Years of age have softened the bitterness into a smooth, harmonious finish. Expect a luxurious, full-bodied experience where velvety textures and a persistent, spirit-driven warmth linger long after each sip.

Appearance. Opaque, jet black in color (SRM 40+). It pours with a thin, mahogany-colored head that subsides quickly, leaving a viscous coating on the glass with visible legs.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a complex blend of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and black licorice. The Jamaican Rum barrels contribute distinct notes of vanilla, oak, and molasses. Esters of prunes and raisins are prominent, complemented by a smooth, vinous alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression of dark chocolate and espresso transitions into complex layers of molasses and burnt caramel. Bitterness is firm but well-integrated, providing balance to the rich malt and rum sweetness. Notes of dried figs and tobacco emerge in the mid-palate, leading to a long, warming, and slightly sweet finish with lingering cocoa.
