Poppels Session IPA offers a vibrant, hop-forward experience tailored for peak drinkability. This American IPA presents an inviting bouquet of citrus and tropical fruit, underpinned by subtle esters from the traditional English ale yeast. Despite its approachable 4.2% alcohol content, a complex grist of five different malts ensures a surprisingly robust foundation, preventing the thinness often found in lower-gravity ales. Appearance. Medium gold in color with a brilliant clarity, though a very slight haze may be present. It features a medium-sized, white head with good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring prominent notes of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. A low, clean, and grainy maltiness supports the hop presentation, accompanied by very light fruity esters from the English ale yeast.
Taste. High hop flavor mirror the citrus and resinous aroma. A low but sturdy grainy maltiness provides a platform for the medium-high bitterness. The fermentation profile is clean with a faint hint of fruit. It concludes with a dry to medium-dry finish and a lingering, hoppy aftertaste.
