This aged Old Ale unfolds with rich malt depth layered with vinous complexities from two years of conditioning in Sangiovese barrels. It beautifully merges classic British-style dark fruit, toffee, and treacle with a gentle, rustic sourness and soft oak tannins. Appearance. Deep reddish-brown to dark chestnut color with brilliant ruby highlights. Pours with a low, light tan head that has poor retention, leaving a fine, fleeting collar. Generally clear despite its depth.

Aroma. High intensity and complex. Prominent sweet malt character featuring dark toffee, treacle, and toasted nuts, closely intertwined with vinous red wine notes of sour cherry and blackberry from the wine wood. Moderate fruity esters resembling raisins, prunes, and figs are complemented by oxidative notes akin to tawny Port.
