This Foreign Extra Stout offers a decadent sensory journey, merging a robust roasted base with rich confectionery layers. Deeply roasted grain notes of coffee and dark chocolate from the Foreign Extra Stout foundation are immediately amplified by the infusion of cocoa nibs. Smooth, aromatic vanilla provides a velvety bridge to the distinctively toasted, nutty character of hazelnuts. Despite these dessert-like additions, the beer maintains its stylistic integrity with a moderately dry finish and firm bitterness that balances the perceived sweetness. It is a complex, medium-full-bodied ale where the moderate alcohol warmth supports a lingering, praline-like aftertaste and a creamy, indulgent presence.

Appearance. Opaque, jet black (SRM 40). Topped with a dense, creamy, dark tan head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass.
