Reaktor is an exceptionally dry and effervescent Specialty IPA, specifically a Brut IPA, designed to mimic the crisp, sparkling character of champagne. Leveraging a Double Dry Hop (DDH) treatment, it showcases intense aromatics from Galaxy and Mosaic hops. Expect a burst of tropical passion fruit and peach from the Galaxy, complemented by the complex blueberry and citrus notes of Mosaic. The bone-dry finish is achieved through enzymatic action, leaving almost no residual sugar and emphasizing the aromatic hop oils. Despite its strength, the mouthfeel remains remarkably light and spritzy, with a restrained bitterness that allows the vibrant fruit profile to shine against a minimal malt backdrop.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3–4 SRM). Brilliantly clear with vigorous, rising bubbles. Large, frothy white head with excellent persistence and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of passion fruit, pineapple, and citrus zest. Subtle berry and mango undertones. Malt is nearly imperceptible, perhaps a whisper of cracker. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is remarkably crisp and bone-dry. Strong hop flavors of tropical fruit and tangerine lead the palate. Very low bitterness for the style, lacking any harshness or lingering resin. No caramel or toast; the malt is extremely neutral. Finish is short, clean, and refreshing, emphasizing hop aromatics without body.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a thin texture that avoids being oily. Extremely high carbonation provides a prickly, champagne-like effervescence. Noticeable but well-disguised alcohol warmth. No astringency.
