Sentický Kvasar 13% is a rustic, unfiltered interpretation of a Munich Dunkel, uniquely enriched by the addition of honey during the brewing process. The sensory profile is led by deep Munich malt character, manifesting as toasted bread crusts, hazelnuts, and a touch of milk chocolate. The honey provides a distinctive floral aromatic lift and a subtle layer of complexity on the palate without adding excessive sugar. Its unfiltered nature provides a creamy, lush texture that enhances the bready malt core, while a restrained bitterness ensures the finish remains clean and medium-dry, true to its lager heritage.
Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with distinct garnet highlights (SRM 22-26). The beer is noticeably hazy due to being unfiltered, topped with a dense, creamy, light tan head that shows excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity of rich Munich malt, characterized by toasted bread, nuts, and soft caramel. The addition of honey contributes a delicate floral sweetness and nectar-like quality. Clean fermentation profile with a very low, spicy herbal hop note in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and malty with flavors of toasted grain and bread crust. A subtle honeyed flavor emerges mid-palate, integrating seamlessly with notes of toffee and light chocolate. Bitterness is medium-low, providing just enough balance against the malt-forward profile. The finish is smooth and medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of toasted malt and floral honey; no roasted or burnt harshness is present.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, slightly dextrinous, and notably creamy mouthfeel resulting from its unfiltered state. Moderate carbonation. Smooth lager character with no astringency and only a very faint, pleasant alcohol warmth.
