Pivovar Raven Gunslinger
This assertive American IPA showcases an aggressive lupulin profile, driven by a heavy-handed application of Citra and Amarillo hops. The sensory experience is dominated by vibrant layers of grapefruit zest, juicy tangerine, and tropical mango, underscored by a subtle resinous pine. A clean, supportive malt backbone provides just enough grainy sweetness to balance the firm, lingering bitterness without detracting from the hop-forward focus. Brilliantly clear with a golden hue, it finishes crisp and dry, delivering the high-impact citrus character typical of its award-winning homebrew heritage while maintaining a smooth, approachable texture despite its punchy bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (approx. 7-9 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a tall, off-white, persistent head that leaves thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, orange peel, and tropical fruit. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt supports the hops. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is decidedly hoppy with flavors of lemon zest, orange, and stone fruit. Medium-high bitterness (approx. 60 IBU) is clean and sharp. Low grainy malt presence with a hint of toasted bread. The finish is dry and crisp with a long, bitter, and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
