Pivovar Potmehúd Pathfinder
Pathfinder is a vibrant American IPA that showcases a sophisticated New World hop profile through Nelson Sauvin and Nectaron, bolstered by the experimental HBC 1019. The sensory experience is led by distinctive white wine and gooseberry notes from the Nelson Sauvin, followed by a tropical deluge of pineapple and peach from the Nectaron. The addition of HBC 1019 introduces complex layers of melon and tropical fruit. Unfiltered and bright, it presents an assertive hop character balanced by a lean malt backbone. This creates a crisp, refreshing profile with a lingering, bitter finish that remains highly drinkable.
Appearance. Medium gold with a slight, attractive haze from its unfiltered nature. Topped with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of white grape, gooseberry, and tropical stone fruits like peach and pineapple. A low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral base, while the fermentation profile remains very clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of passionfruit, melon, and nectarine. Medium-high hop bitterness is firm and clean, balancing a low toasted malt character. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of crushed grapes and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a refreshing effervescence without any harshness or astringency.
