Pivovar Permon Black IPA presents a striking balance between American hop intensity and restrained roasted depth. The sensory experience is led by a bold, resinous, and citrus-forward hop profile characteristic of top-tier American varieties, enhanced by a two-stage cold-hopping process. Beneath the bright hop notes, a foundation of Pale Ale malt provides a sturdy backbone, while debittered dark malts offer subtle hints of cocoa and toasted bread without harshness. Unfiltered and produced via traditional open fermentation, it maintains a clean yet complex character that bridges the gap between a crisp American IPA and a smooth, dark ale, finishing dry with a lingering, clean bitterness.

Appearance. Dark brown to opaque black (35-40 SRM). Persistent, creamy light tan head with excellent lacing and moderate retention. Slightly hazy due to being unfiltered.

Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent grapefruit, pine resin, and hints of tropical fruit. Low malt character offering notes of toasted bread and a subtle touch of milk chocolate. Clean fermentation profile with virtually no esters.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with grapefruit peel and resinous pine. Malt flavors are supportive but restrained, providing light chocolate and coffee husk notes without any burnt or ashy harshness. Medium-high bitterness that is firm but smooth. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering resinous hop and very light roasted aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from its unfiltered nature. Moderate carbonation and very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
