Pivovar Obora Summer Ale
This American Pale Ale offers a refreshing, sessionable profile specifically crafted for summer drinkability. Featuring the distinctive Talus Cryo hop, the sensory experience is led by intense aromas of zesty grapefruit and lush tropical fruits, complemented by delicate hints of rose and a resinous pine finish. Although light in alcohol, a specialized mashing and sparging method provides a sturdy, supportive body that balances the hop-forward bitterness. The result is a clean, bright beer where the modern hop character shines against a neutral, grainy malt backdrop, culminating in a crisp, dry finish that maintains high drinkability throughout.
Appearance. Pale golden color (approx. 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderately large, frothy white head that exhibits good retention and leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, mango, and papaya. Distinctive floral notes of rose and a woody, piney resin are apparent. Low grainy-sweet maltiness provides a neutral foundation. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Bright initial flavors of tropical fruit and citrus zest lead into a floral and piney mid-palate driven by Talus hops. Moderate bitterness is well-integrated and never harsh. Low malt flavors of cracker and white bread provide support. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering note of grapefruit peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, though slightly fuller than expected for its gravity due to brewing techniques. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp, refreshing prickle. Smooth texture with no astringency or alcohol warmth.
