This Czech Premium Pale Lager is a masterclass in tradition, utilizing a double decoction mash to enhance its floor-malted grain profile. The sensory experience is led by a rich, bready malt foundation with hints of toasted crust. Exclusive hopping with Žatecký poloranný červeňák imparts a sophisticated, spicy, and herbal floral aroma. As an unfiltered lager, it possesses a slightly fuller presence than clear versions, while maintaining the characteristic soft mouthfeel derived from local water. The bitterness is prominent yet rounded, providing a clean, lingering finish that balances the complex malt sweetness and ensures exceptional drinkability.
Appearance. Pale to deep gold (4–6 SRM). Unfiltered clarity ranging from a slight haze to cloudy. Topped with a dense, creamy, persistent white head.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Rich, bready malt aroma from floor-malted grain, supported by a distinct spicy and herbal hop bouquet from the Žatecký poloranný červeňák. Low diacetyl and very low fruity esters may be present.
Taste. Rich and complex bready maltiness is primary, followed by a soft, rounded bitterness. Pronounced floral and spicy hop flavors are evident. The finish is long and clean, beautifully balancing the malt and bitterness without any harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from the double decoction and yeast. Carbonation is moderate to low. Soft, rounded mouthfeel with no perceived alcohol warmth.
