Rišaví Zmikund is a potent American Amber Ale that commands attention with its deep ruddy-red hue and complex profile. The sensory experience is defined by a bold interplay between darker, toasty malts and a vibrant, double-dry-hopped character. High-intensity notes of Citra and Galaxy hops deliver an aromatic punch of citrus zest and tropical fruit. While the palate begins with a full, velvety malty sweetness and rich caramel, it quickly transitions into a firm, lasting bitterness. At 7.8% ABV, a gentle alcohol warmth complements the lingering citrus finish, resulting in a robust and deeply flavored ale.
Appearance. Deep ruby-red to dark coppery-brown (15–18 SRM). Topped by a low but dense and persistent off-white to light tan head. Generally clear with prominent red reflections.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with citrus and tropical fruit from Citra and Galaxy hops, showing notes of grapefruit, lime, and passion fruit. This is supported by a solid foundation of moderately-high maltiness, featuring toasted bread and rich caramel.
Taste. The initial impression is rich and malty with flavors of caramel and toasted grain. This sweetness is rapidly overtaken by a significant hop bitterness and intense flavors of citrus peel and tropical resin. The balance leans toward the hops in the finish, which is long, clean, and citrus-forward.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the strength of the beer.
