This Session Cold IPA from Pivovar Antoš delivers a vibrant, ultra-clean sensory profile driven by a quartet of American Cryo hops. Despite its session-strength 4.3% ABV, the beer produces an intense aromatic punch of citrus, tropical fruit, and resinous pine. The strategic use of rice flakes in the grist ensures a lean, pale straw body and a bone-dry finish, allowing the concentrated hop oils to take center stage without interference from heavy malt sugars. It bridges the crispness of a lager with the bold aromatic expression of an American IPA, resulting in a highly drinkable and refreshing hop-forward experience.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a medium-sized, bright white head that shows good persistence and fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, mango, and pine resin. Low, clean, neutral graininess from the pale malt and rice flakes. Fermentation profile is exceptionally clean with no noticeable esters or phenols.
Taste. A hop-forward initial impression with flavors of citrus zest and tropical fruit. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a crackery backdrop that quickly yields to a medium-high bitterness. The balance is decidedly bitter and crisp. It finishes very dry and clean with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a lively tingle on the tongue. No alcohol warmth or astringency is present.
