Appearance. 35–40 SRM. Opaque, deep ebony to black. Pours with a dense, creamy, tan-colored head with excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with prominent notes of marzipan and sweet almond paste. Layered milk chocolate and cocoa aromas dominate over a mild roasted malt background of sweetened coffee. Low dark fruit esters; hop aroma is absent.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and dessert-like, featuring milk chocolate and sweet almond. The mid-palate introduces a marzipan-like sweetness that balances a low-to-moderate roasted malt bitterness. Very low earthy hop flavor. The finish is sweet and lingering, emphasizing cocoa and toasted nuts rather than acrid roast.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and creamy with a smooth, coating texture. Moderate carbonation provides enough lift to prevent cloying. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
