This American IPA reimagines the style through a modern lens, utilizing a cool fermentation with Kölsch yeast to ensure a remarkably clean, ester-free profile. The grain bill, featuring a blend of malted barley, oats, and rice, creates an exceptionally pale and lean canvas that emphasizes a snappy, bone-dry finish. Intensely hoppy, the sensory profile is dominated by Citra CRYO, delivering vivid layers of citrus and tropical fruit. Additional hop varieties contribute bright, layered bursts of orange and tangerine. Appearance. Color is medium gold (SRM 6-8) with brilliant clarity. It features a medium-sized, bright white head with excellent persistence and fine-textured lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy citrus-driven notes of grapefruit, orange, and tangerine. Very low, clean, crackery maltiness is present from the rice and barley. Fermentation character is exceptionally clean and neutral with no perceptible yeast-derived esters.
Taste. Initial impression is led by high hop flavor, showcasing citrus zest and tropical fruit. Bitterness is firm and assertive (approx. 50-60 IBU) but remains smooth and well-integrated.
